Hobart Tasmania

Hobart City
|
Still a bustling harbour town, Tasmania’s capital city offers charm with stunning views. An historic city with an intriguing and dark past of convicts and hardened mariners, Hobart now provides the perfect destination for those holidaymakers with an interest outside of suntans.
Understandably, Australia’s southernmost capital can be cold. Winter temperatures drop to a low of 4.5C and rising to 22C in the summer months. Its geographical location means that Hobart, more than any other capital in Australia, has very distinct seasons. Each month of the year offers delights; such as spring flowers and winter snows.
Overlooked by the regal Mt Wellington, Hobart is dissected by the majestic Derwent River and from its banks the colonial architecture draws the visitor inward to the eclectic shopping of Collins Street and the Cat & Fiddle Arcade.
Not a city to shy from the elements, Hobart is still a proud seafaring city. Boats of all styles fill the huge deepwater harbour, and the world-famous Sydney to Hobart yacht race attracts the bold whilst hypnotizing the globe.
With so much emphasis on the sea, it is of no surprise that many of Hobart’s restaurants specialize in fine seafood. However, with the small city now a boom market, Hobart has plenty in-store for all visitors.
Hobart is accessible by air and sea.
